You Are Wasting Lots of Energy In Your Home!

Did you know that in your household, you have appliances that are sucking up juice all the time without you knowing it?

See that microwave? Sure its plugged in, but its still draining power. How about the computer thats on 24/7? Think about the wattage and how much money you’re losing. Even little things like battery charges, cell phone chargers plugged in the wall, even your vcr or dvd player that is in standby mode, they are still sucking up juice.

In my house, I put everything on a power strip. When I’m done, I turn off the power strip. What I don’t know is if the power strip is off but plugged in, does it still suck up power? I take the plug out anyway just to be safe. Hey, a few pennies now equals a bunch of dollars later. Don’t believe me? There are many articles on the net explaining how much power is lost because the user is unaware or inefficient with their electricity.

I suggest you take a look at this New York times article I found, its a very good read on his experience with losing unnecessary power, and tricks he did to save money and energy.

It’s always worth saving. We did it the other way. We got rid of a car to save on gas, and one of us now works at home to cut out a commute. We probably do use a little more electric since it’s a home based business, but it’s more fun adn less $$$$ on gas. The good thing about your passions is that often, if you look hard enough, you can turn them into a way to make money. This is something we all want to do. You may love to take pictures of your pets. You may be into gardening, sports, or collectibles. If really think about it, you can end up doing the things you love and making some money at the same time! What’s wrong with that? There are two great resources I know to help get started. One is a website called the Home Work Shop. The URL is http://www.cmg4life.com/homebasedbusiness. They don’t do MLM’s or internet marketing. It’s real down to earth stuff about working a business from your home. The best part is their information is FREE! I really like that! The other is called The Ultimate Home Business Startup Guide. You can get the scoop on that at http://tinyurl.com/2225dz if you want. Both of these sites offer some good ideas about turning you hobbies and passions into cash.
