How To Become Self-Sufficient Knowledge Wise – A Rant

These past few weeks have been rough and I’ll shortly describe why.  As they say, you are your own worst enemy and in this case I believe it is true.  These last few weeks when I am not here posting an article, I am away at my computer conjuring new things in mind, and a lot of it recently has been involvement with Tunngle tutorials.

To those who don’t know what Tunngle is it is essentially another VPN solution.  Think of it as a mix between Steam, Garena, and Hamachi all rolled into one and its great for playing LAN games over the Internet easily without trouble. This article is not to talk about Tunngle, but merely to express where most of my time has been lately.

Anyway, if anyone is familiar with Youtube, you can upload your own videos and if your videos are something that is important to people, you will bound to get questions.  No tutorial or video I have seen is question free.  There is always and I mean always that one guy in the crowd who needs clarification on something, even if it is obvious to the creator or to other people.

What We Can Do to Better Ourselves

We often think that we are stuck in a loophole, just waiting to go to work and then come back. Feed your dog, watch television, eat a bucket of ice cream and then off to bed; rewind and repeat. Well here are some ways to better ourselves in any way we can, and some reasons why we do the things we do.

Set Goals and Go Achieve

This is a basic idea, yet most fail to practice it. For example, if I were to set my goals to getting all A’s, and then do everything in my power to achieve that goal. It doesn’t have to be related to school in any way! It doesn’t have to be so extreme either. Maybe you have always wanted to go to Cedar Point, but were to afraid. Well then set your goal to go to the carnival. However you achieve success is up to you. But, don’t forget to do everything in your power! You can do everything you’ve ever wanted, step-by-step. Even make a list if you have to then you’ll be crossing off the items on the list one by one with a smile. It brings joy to any person to be progression.

One of the best and most simple things to do, but effective. This activity can be done at almost any time of the day, and it is also among the cheapest. It doesn’t have to be the biggest, toughest work-out; even a simple walk will do. Exercise is a proven to make a person happier, and it also helps someone feel better about themselves. Builds your physique and breaks down your fat! What have you got to lose?! (except fat)

This will definitely mix things up. Writing lets an individual express his/her ideas and be creative. Sitting here right now writing this article is bringing me happiness! I don’t write to impress others, I write for myself. Often I get asked “if you don’t get paid to write, then why do you do it?” Well the simple yet complex answer to that my friend is because I ENJOY IT. Whether it’s a poem, an article, essay, idea, journal, story, book, or even just a thought on paper. Write and I promise that you will prosper!

Now, I’m not here to tell you how to live your life, but without love what is life? there is a difference between living and being alive. Find that one magical person that you want and need! Speaking from experience, I was feeling alone and empty, and I just didn’t know what was wrong. There seemed to be something missing, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it. In most cases, people are alone for so long that they have become accustomed to it. Then I got a girlfriend, it only lasted for about three months, but I did learn something. I learned that I was missing a huge chunk of life. It came to my conclusion that she was the missing piece of the puzzle. Now I look for girls left and right, take every chance I get, and you should do the same too.

To conclude, no matter what you do, don’t forget to try to better yourself. You only live once (unless you are Budhist), so make the best of it. Be all that you can be, and strive to achieve!

Any comments or stories, especially success stories are greatly appreciated.

Sometimes You Just Got To Get Away From It All

For those of you who have added me as a friend on your Instant Messenger program or Skype, you may have realized that for the last two weeks I have been quite busy.  Maybe you have left me a message via instant messenger, and you saw that I didn’t answer you, or if I did, it was a very late reply.

Freecycle – Share to Care

It seems that every time I turn on the news, there is a news story about someone getting hurt.  Maybe this involves a family getting robbed, a student being raped, or a hurricane destorying homes.

Whatever the case maybe, you would think the world is a harsh place to live in and that people by nature are selfish human beings.  Last night I watched the news, and there was a news story how a realtor was showing a client a prospective foreclosure home, and when they opened the front door, there were two burglars stripping copper out of the walls!  Yes, they were trying to steal the copper to make some fast cash. The ironic part?  The burglars asked the realtor for the keys so they can come back later!

*face palms*  So where am I going with this?  Is there hope?  Are there really kind people that exist in this world?  Yes, there really are nice people around.  It is just a matter of finding them.

Music: The Most Influential Thing Ever

Music might not seem like the most influential thing ever, but I assure you, it is. Being a teen myself, I have been greatly influenced by music, and I have also noticed how others are changed just because of a few string plucks and drum beats. Speaks about what music can do to people, make them good or bad.

Music in History:

I am a teen sixteen years of age, and I currently attending high school. Being in the situation I am in, I observe everything with curiosity and closeness because I am very intrigued why things are the way they are. Let’s have a little history lesson. Very few people know this, but in just about every war ever fought, there has been music to encourage combatants. Most war is just about what people think it is, and that would be violence. Just when a soldier felt the need to give up, here comes the music, and all of a sudden, he feels the need to get up and fight like never before. As long as the music goes, the soldier feels more like a god, indestructible, impenetrable, and impregnable.

Music Today:

Today, music has been split up into many different genres than ever before. As people become more picky, they feel the need to have everything as they desire it. In high school, I see many spheres of influence due to the type of music that one listens to, and sometimes even gangs are formed. One of the biggest branches that affect people would be rap. There are not too many people that have not heard of rap, and it is most certainly the biggest branch. This genre mostly talks about and inspires the forming of gangs, violence, drug use, sex, money, crimes, ghetto environments, etc. Another is rock/metal/rock and roll. These are all closely related and most people who listen to one usually listen to the others as well. This mostly affects influence of dark clothing, religious beliefs closely related to Atheism and Satanism, hair styles that are scary to many, and just overall personalities that one would consider “crazy.”

What People Really Do: The Gangster Side

It is one thing to be influenced by something, but it is another when that something pushes a person to the point of no return. Starting with rap, the biggest genre. In many different cases, I have seen fights closely related to the “wanna be gangsta lifestyle” as many call it. It also closely relates to racism against the white man, thus stirring the tensions between African Americans and whites. Not trying to sound like a racist, but this is what it is really about. I do not feel like lying just because I sound like a racist, because I am not. The truth is what people want to hear, and here it is: There is a constant never ending racial war between “The Gangsters” and the “Goths” or “Crazy People” as many call them. Looking from a neutral point of view, I see both sides of the story. The Gangsters think that there is no need to be respectful, thus leading to violence towards other students, mostly Goths, teachers, and even other gangsters themselves! One time, I was sitting down in the middle of class doing my work as was everyone else, when all of the sudden a gangster started screaming and yelling at the top of his lungs, and was over-obsessed with calling the teacher as many people refer to as “the N word.” He then spit in between the teacher’s eyes, and then hit her! All because of some rap song that said there is no need of school, and the teachers need to be shot; something along those lines.

What people really do: The Goth/”Crazy People” Side:

Maybe gangster situations happen a lot more than Goth situations, but the Goth ones are far worse. Usually, their music drives people to the extremes and makes them do insane things. For example, when I was passing by the office, a Goth student tried to literally stab a teacher and the principal with a pair of scissors! This is madness, and I later went to ask the student why he did what he did. He then said: “They pissed me off!” I have seen this as very unreasonable, because if everyone was like him, there would be no one left in this world. He once invited me to listen to music with him during lunch hour, and I was quite fascinated about what this music talked about. It said some very awful things about killing, and about how violence is the only way out.

Physical and Psychological Effects of Music:

Music has many effects on a person, mostly bad effects. Sure there are inspiring songs, but that doesn’t mean that a person will listen to them. Statistics show that teens from ages 14-17 that listen to heavy metal/rock and/or rap are 20% more violent than those who do not. This might not seem like much, but it can be a big number when it comes to the whole country or even the whole world. Music can cause strong beliefs and disbeliefs, emotions, violence, and in some rare cases even insanity! I am sure that if a person just realized that the artists or bands that are making these songs have lifestyles that are not even closely related to the lyrics of the song. A good example of this is rap; it talks about violence and crime and murder, but the rappers themselves do not even have a criminal record. Rock stars sing songs about hating the world, but they love every bit of it, mostly because they are rich and famous.

If people would just take into consideration that most (not all) music is built upon a lie, then the world would be a lot better of a place. Some music may inspire us, but most just offer false inspiration. It really drives us to do what we would have never considered doing without music. It makes us do good, evil, strong, weak, and emotional. It inspires us, demonizes us, and becomes one with us. Music; the most influential thing in the world…

Quick Update – Versatile

Hey guys, I am home with my family for a day for the labor day weekend while I prepare to do the final moving of major items from my home to my new house.

With that said, I check youtube (had 30 comments waiting for me) as well as approximately 10 comments here demanding answers.

As I started to answer the comments here on the blog, I had noticed that one guy for the PS2 USB tutorial was commenting how lousy the response was and how no one was answering his question. Unfortunately, the only person that could answer that question was me and I was gone!

This got me thinking:  It’s not fair that I put up a news post telling people that I will be gone for a certain amount of time with no Internet access, and when they post a comment and expect an answer and see no answer, I get chewed out?  Who is at fault here?  Is it me, or is it the user who is blind to the news on this blog?

Sometimes I feel as if people just find an article per google, post their question, and don’t even bother reading the rest of the blog.  Perhaps this is true, so they are totally oblivious to the fact that I was gone for a few days. I will have internet access at my new house starting this Wednesday, so I will be back in action very shortly.

With that said, I just got super pissed, left a comment and also emailed the individual chewing him out.  This reminds me of a true story video of where a guy told his girlfriend that he was going to go to Europe to go backpacking for two weeks, and that he would have no computer or phone access.

What happened next was unbelieveable.  The girl friend emails him and tries to call him, and over the course of 3 days, the GF gets pissed because the boyfriend never responds.  The GF gets pissed herself, cheats with his best friend, tries to make up over email, takes it back, and then even goes as far as packing all his stuff to bring it back to his mom’s place.  There she finds out from the mother that her boyfriend was out backpacking for two weeks with no access to communication, so she sends a final email to him with subject line “If you love me, don’t read the other emails please!!!”

Well, guess what? He read them and dumped her ass on the spot. Below is the video for your pleasure:

Similarly, I feel I am in the same boat here. With that said, all you hit and run commenters who feel as if I am not pulling my weight in my time of abscence, all I can say is shame on you, screw you, and go to hell. I”ll get back to you when I am back for real.

[Food for Thought] Getting Away With Crime?

8-21-09:  Initial release.

OJ Simpson.  He was one of history’s greatest football players, only to hit his downfall with the 1995 trial where it was speculated he had murdered wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.   Now I don’t want to get into the details of this trial, but the bottom line of the story is that OJ Simpson was acquitted or murder, meaning that he was pronounced innocent.  The problem is so many people (and probably himself) know he was guilty, but thanks to a damn good lawyer he got way with what many believed to be murder.

In late 2006, OJ Simpson released a book titled “If I Did It”.  The book which is supposed to be a first-person fictional account of the murder had he actually committed it was withdrawn by the publisher before it release, only to be released later by the Goldman family.  I got a chance to read this book months ago, and I can say it was gripping.

Sure, it was marketed as “fiction”, but c’mon, we all know it is OJ Simpson’s own way of dealing with himself and the crime he probably did commit.

Where am I going with this?

The Underground Roadmap – What Lays Ahead of Us

7-27-09:  Initial release

Everyone has a vision, and a goal in life.  Of course we do, otherwise you would be a worthless sack of particles and matter, right?  Anyway, after writing a few retrospect posts these past few days, I thought it would be nice for a change to give you guys where I want the blog to go, if anything, my own personal goal for the blog.

By revealing what I want to work on, it should hopefully get you excited too so that when the time comes you will be ready or you can give other suggestions. For the other authors, if you have something to say, do it in your own post please.  Do not let my ideas impede on yours or influence or subtract from your thoughts. If things happen to overlap, then so be it.  It just means that this blog is doing something to your subconscious. :-0

Tech Savvyness Is Not a Reader Prerequisite

7-24-09:  Initial release.

7-25-09:  Minor edits.

As I reflect on the history of this blog, I have to admit that a lot of my articles here are fairly technical. Whether it is about modding your game console, doing a specific task on the computer, or making your favorite game work online, there are a lot of technical details you have to know during the process.

I am a big blog reader.  I am a huge fan of and  In fact, they are part of my daily soup and butter, along with just to keep up with the hippest items on the Internet.  It can be very easy for someone to write a lot of “jargon” and technical details in a very non-concise manner and it just leaves the user (in this case, novices) left scratching their head.  This equals frustration, confusion, and the worst part of all …. no positive results.

It Is OK To Fall Down

Falling Down

True Story:  I was at Church yesterday, and it was fairly packed, even for a 6 PM mass session.  There was a point in the mass where the Priest takes the holy bread, and passes it around to all the assistants behind him.  Usually, these assistants are avid church members and they volunteer to help out with the Eucharist and serve the bread/wine to the church attendees.

Anyway, while the whole crowd was kneeling in the pews praying, we heard a loud “Oh” over the microphone.  We looked at the altar, and it appeared that one of the elderly assistants (a man about his 70s) had somehow fallen down and pulled the lady next to him.

Of course, the bread basket he was holding had also fell down and the bread was strewn all across the floor.  It truly was an awkward moment.  The three people left standing with bread and wine in their hands went down to the bottom of the steps and just stood there, waiting for people to line up to be served.  Finally, the music started playing from the choir and that helped muffle the embarrassment of the old man.

The old man got up, was given a new tray of bread, and went on his merry way serving the rest of the church goers.  For those 2 minutes, it was just the most awkward thing ever for me to watch.  Surely, if I was there and I had fallen down with your holy bread, I would be ashamed too.  I’m sure everyone just focused on the altar, just in utter disbelief that this could have happen.  However, remind you this was at church, a place of forgiveness, so I’m sure many of this just let this go and continue on.

After all, we all fall down some time and get back up, don’t we?  Think about it.  You are playing a sport and you fall down while running, or someone knocks you down.  Do you cry?  No, you get back up and go at it!

Received a poor test grade?  Do you sit around and piss and moan?  Nope, you study harder for the next test to get that A.  Falling down is just a natural part of life.  You get scraped on the knee, put on your bandaid, and just get back up and continue.

Are people going to be pissed because you can’t stand by yourself all the time?  Well, maybe if it is something important, but in general it is OK to fall down.

I like to chew people out from time to time.  Do I take pride in telling people what their inadequacies are?  No, not really, but it helps to get their mind straight. I use this tactic a lot whenever I am in the Garena chat rooms trying to teach someone how to do a certain task.

First off, I always start off with a statement something along the lines of “Don’t be a tool.”  Learn for yourself.  Don’t just eat the fish, but learn how to fish.  By doing so, it is the only way you can become self-sufficient, which helps everyone out.

It is OK to start off as a tool, but as you grow and become wiser and smarter, then you can start using the tools to help you succeed.  Get my drift?

When was the last time you fell down?  Did it hurt?  Did you get back up and came back stronger than ever?  Let’s hear your story, and motivate the rest of us to understand it is OK to fall down in life and get right back up again.
