Foreword:  I am very excited.  This is definitely one of my favorite posts for 2009, and as you read further, you will understand why.  This guide is clearly not illegal.  It is simply another method to enable users to play their LAN enabled games over the Internet with friends.  No longer are you bound to be in the basement with your PCs to play LAN games! There is a reason why I spent two long nights working on this guide and the excellent video!  ~ Versatile

If you follow this blog, or know anything about VPN programs, Hamachi is a great program that people can use to play LAN games with each other.  In short, Hamachi was the king for implementing LAN games to play over the Internet.  How it worked is people would join these networks, and Hamachi gives each user a unique IP address.  When you launch a game, the game is tricked into thinking that everyone in the network is on the same LAN, and hence, you can see each other to play the game.

Of course, Hamachi has other useful purposes such as being a great secure chat medium, as well as being an alternative as a safe VPN to tunnel into your PCs and transfer files or encrypt remote transfers or remote administration.

The Underground Blog – 2008 Reflection

reflection

First of all, I want to thank all the viewers that have visited this blog for the year 2008. When I first started off the year, I only had one goal in mind: “Bring the undground knowledge to the common man”.  Did we succeed?  I want to say so, yes!

Check out this month of December page views.  You can see that Decemember was the first time we broke 100k views a month, which is amazing!

stats-12-31-08

At the beginning of 2008, you know what our daily hit was roughly?  See the picture below:

table-stats

So yes, we have made significant strides this year, and honeslty, I have no goal in terms of daily hits or anything like that.  As long as I have people viewing this blog, I am happy.

Notice that on this blog we do not spam you with donations or ads (except Voltaire’s PrizeRebel ad), but even that works because it helps everyone gets free stuff.

What were the top posts of 2008?  See the list below:

top-2008

In general, people loved to play COD4 on cracked servers, so of course this is the hottest topic of the year.  After all, COD4 was a badass game!  Next in line were of course anything related to adult erotica passwords, and then the rest is a mirage of PS2/XBOX modding articles, as well as miscellaneous tutorials and things dealing with the internet.

I hope articles like these is what you guys are looking for as we try to decide what we shall write for 2009 and beyond.  Once again, thanks for coming to the blog, and if you want to become a writer, by all means let V1 know!  Thanks!

COD4 Modern Warfare Keygen, Level 55 Hack- unlock all guns.

[Update: 1-5-09] Due to Underground proactiveness, Chyea has re-done the video tutorial to lay down the hellfire that this hack does work.  All you non-believers, watch the video and cleanse your eyes.  If you cannot accept the fact that this hack work,s then you need to re-evaluate your own method.

“Call of Duty 4 makes you unlock weapons, weapon attachments and mods, camouflage, and challenges. Well there is a way around that because all of the data is stored client-side. To unlock all weapons for Call of Duty 4 multiplayer so that you don’t have to level up follow these easy instructions.

  1. Download this mpdata file.
  2. Go to Start -> Run-> Type regedit -> Hit Enter.
  3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4
  4. Double-click codkey
  5. Save the key in notepad
  6. Replace the key with: DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
  7. Press OK and close regedit.
  8. Navigate to your Call of Duty 4 profile folder (typically “C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\your_user_name”)
  9. Back-up and then remove all the files in your user name folder.
  10. Place the mpdata file you downloaded in your user name folder
  11. Open the COD4 MP game and check your rank. You should now be level 55 with all challenges, guns, and every camouflage unlocked!
  12. Finally, in the game go to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code and type your original cd key you have saved in notepad.
  13. IMPORTANT: you MUST join a server after the above step, stay in it for a couple of  minutes so that the new cdkey will be encrypted onto your profile.

There you go, you now have everything unlocked. Enjoy.”

Note: if you’re using Windows XP, when choosing to save the mpdata file, make sure you put quotation marks -> “mpdata” as the file name. Otherwise XP will save it as a default txt(I think) format.

Note: if you are using a 64 bit OS, the registry path for the cdkey is as follows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE —> SOFTWARE —> Wow6432Node —> Activision —> Call of Duty 4

Video re-done and uploaded 1-5-09.  Watch it in HD at youtube.

Also, to play COD4 in a window, add this to the shortcut: +r_fullscreen “0”

How the V1 Blog Will Proceed After 9-29-08

These last few days there has been a lot of talk about this blog, and the new blog and I wanted just for one last time talk about how I want this blog to continue here on and out.

For the authors, if you want to write on the new blog, please contact either V1 or Voltaire, and we will setup your account appropriately.  I ask that for the new blog, any intellectually stimulating articles or deep tutorials and what not be written for that.  Otherwise, current authors please save your article for this blog.

Yes, that is correct.  This blog will continue to get posts, but the posting article content will slightly different than what we have done in the past.  The V2 blog will strictly be for new tutorials, technical content, and things of that nature.  Anything that does not find its way on V2 blog will find its niche here.  Things like TiT updates will continue, and here I will lament on status of both blogs as necessary.

Question:  Is it true you can take the content found on V2, and just post it here on V1?

Answer: Yes, that is possible, but V2 has more features to it, and I would like the new “tastier” content to be on V2 so we can focus and push ourselves to the next level.  Believe it or not, there will be a day when I do not want to blog anymore, so any data on V2 will then at that time be imported into V1 blog, so it can be part of Internet wordpress history and documentation. ;p

Question:  Is the V1 Blog going to die?

Answer:  No, it won’t.  The content on this blog still gathers new questions and faces each and every day.  There will always be demonoid users, console questions, COD4 questions, and the like and I will continue to check this blog daily to answer questions as needed.

Bottom line is anything that doesn’t fit with V2 will find its way onto here.  This is nice, because there are some social articles I want to write about, and get off my chest and gather community feedback and this blog is a nice avenue to do so.

Anything else you want to see here on this blog?  Leave a comment, thanks!

My opinion: I’ve never agreed with gamespy’s ranking methodology, therefore I’m not a big fan of some of the results. However it’s worth mentioning that after all these years, the mario series is still able to throw weight around.
