How To Play Modern Warfare 3 MP LAN Dedicated Server Online or Offline Using TeknoMW3

Revisions:

2-5-12: Initial release.

2-12-12: Added TeknoMW3 2.5 link.

If you have been living under a rock for quite some time. Modern Warfare 3 has a dedicated server package. The problem? If you want to do this true offline LAN with your MP server, it cannot be done.

Alas, team Teknogods made a TeknoMW3 loader that will allow you to play MW3 MP LAN server online or offline, using your real LAN, or have other people connect to you via a VPN program. In the loader, it has both the spec op mode, as well as the multiplayer mode too available.

For sake of time, you can refer to my pastebin link below for all the details on how to update your game, and use the dedicated server package. Later in the week, I will update this article with screenshots and text instructions on how to get your MP Dedicated Server up and running in no time.

1) Install game.

2) Inside your Binaries folder, there is a program called DunDefConfig.

3) Run it. In lower left hand corner, select Gamespy. Save.

4) If using Tunngle, get the program at tunngle.net. Make account, then login with the Tunngle program. Go over to any of the Dungeon Defender rooms. Finding the rooms will look like below:

5) Launch game. Create your hero, then go online, then go to open match. Then you can do quick match or custom match. From there, click LAN in the lower left hand corner, and either host or join a game. No need to use gamespy if using a vpn gaming solution.

Starcraft 2 LAN – Starfriend Method is Very Real and it Works! However…

Revisions:

7-12-11: Initial Release.

7-18-11: Updated comments.

Starcraft 2 gamers, its time to celebrate! My youtube friend Hidraga told me of a new fan site called http://battle4sc2.com, and this is a portal/forum site that talks about the latest development of Starfriend, which is a TW client that allows you to play LAN online with other people. Yup, and you don’t need to use Hamachi, Tunngle, or any other program.

There is only one caveat though: As of today (7-12-11), you got to download the Chinese version of the game, then download all the associated patches, and then you are good to go.

Don’t worry though, its really easy, and there are tutorials on this already. To learn more about it, go the following links below to get up to speed:

http://battle4sc2.com
Tutorial for Starfriend 0.43 with game links and clients
Starfriend 0.44 with english links

It is unknown in the future if users will be able to use a new version of Starfriend to use with their existing English copies. Time will tell! Enjoy!

Update 7-18-11:

If you start to read the comments here  on this blog, you really have to stop and question if the Chinese program is safe to use at all. The reason behind this move is that we know that China (just in general) is known to have caused global warefare in terms of cyber hacking. Although there is no proof yet that this Starfriend is corrupted, you just got to air on the side of caution.  Since the program is closed source, you don’t really know what is underneath the hood.

As a skeptic, I may not believe what is truth or not in regards to the security of this Starfriend, and if it is trying to hoard my data in the background.  Nonetheless, I am playing on LAN on a PC that has nothing to do with online financials and things of that nature, I will continue to use this program.

However, some of you might be weary of trying to play this, and I don’t blame you. If you do decide to try it out, then maybe what you want to do is keep an eye on your network activity and make sure nothing evil is coming in, or out of your PC. 😛

How To Play Duke Nukem Forever Online (Steam/Smart Steam Method) [Tunngle Optional]

Revisions:

6-11-11: Initial release.

Hey guys, today I got my copy of Duke Nukem Forever, and surprisingly, the first thing I did was went straight to MP, instead of SP.  You have to do a fair amount of work to get the multiplayer to work online, but its painless.

For sake of time, please watch the video tutorial below:

If you are looking for a text tutorial, here is the quick and dirty version:

1) Install game.

2) Install Steam.

3) Get the Duke Nukem Forever multiplayer fix files. If you need the skidrow file (which is better than Razor1911 files), then you can find them all at the media fire link below:

Copy over the patch files.

http://www.mediafire.com/?5b71tngs60wae

4) Get in tunngle (if you desire) only if you want to let other people know you are hosting a game easier. Then use game browser to find a game, or use custom match to create your own!

How To Play Grand Theft Auto (GTA1) Online Using Tunngle

Portal 2 – Huge Tunngle LAN Community

Portal 2 Tunngle Networks
Revisions:
4-22-11: Initial release.
4-23-11: Updated screenshot. 1079 users! Added video tutorial.

Hey guys, so I just got my copy of Portal 2 yesterday, and I must say that it is simply the best Valve game I have played in a long time period. Granted, there are tons of reviews about this game online already, so I am not going to bother talking about the game, because if you are a gamer, you already know what this game is about.

Anyway, in the screenshot above, you can clearly see that Portal 2 is hot. It is so hot that technically 9 networks are filled with lots of people. In fact, there are 895 players at the time I took that screenshot today!

This goes to show that the gamers have spoken. We need our LAN, and LAN will prevail in the age when game companies are trying to take that away from us!

Have you played portal 2 yet? If so, let us know what you think!
